The Music Has Died

Written by Tino Hernandez

Many people die with their music still in them. Why is this so? Too often it is because they are always getting ready to live. Before they know it, time runs out.

The words that Mr. Oliver Wendell Holmes Sr. left us with cut deeply do they not?  We can spend hours, days, weeks, months, and even years dreaming and planning to live our dreams, only to awaken one day and find out that life has escaped us.  Minute by minute, gone, never to be lived again.

Will we allow our music, our life’s desires to simply fall away and never see the light of day?  Dare I say that we most likely will because to let that music out is to expose ourselves to the harsh reality that we may fail, to the scrutiny of others, to the change that we know will make others uncomfortable.  We will, and we will always remember the dream, the life we wished for, and we will forever carry the weight of inaction and regret.

Living the life you want to live isn’t always easy, but the choice is yours to make.
