Progress is man’s ability to complicate simplicity.

Today I am going to ask you to do something for yourself and your brain. Today is Thursday and you and your brain have been hard at work for over three days now. Maybe you’ve already worked 36 hours, put out countless fires, maybe you had to fire someone, been working from home in the evenings, or maybe there’s been so much going on that you can’t even remember which part of the week was the busiest.
Today you’re going to rest your weary brain. No serious reading, learning, no politics, no murder, killing, or maiming on TV. Turn on some tunes and relax. Enjoy some ice cream or just roll around on the carpet with the kids, the dog, or your significant other.
Tonight I’m listening to some tunes, shopping for stuff I really don’t need, and probably won’t buy, on the internet. I’m going to think about my next trip to San Antonio Texas, what I’m going to eat first, which car I’ll rent and stuff like that.
I’ll see you back here tomorrow and please enjoy a little time of relaxation and rest your brain today. It doesn’t matter which time of day you choose and maybe, just maybe you’ll take the day off and just take in the silence.
