Natural ability is important, but you can go far without it if you have the focus, drive, desire and positive attitude.
Google was kind enough to lend the following definition to the word Focus:
The center of interest or activity, the state or quality of having or producing a clear visual definition, to pay particular attention to.
Have you ever thought about the things that you have or have achieved in your life? Think about it. Your first new car, your first home, passing grades, the love of your life, the job of your dreams, the business you planned, the degree you’re so proud of, the 25 Grateful Dead concerts you’ve attended, the awesome physique you’ve worked so hard for, the 30 pounds that you lost, that baby you’re holding in your arms.
These things most likely happened to you because you were focused on getting them. When the human mind focuses on something it will most likely obtain that which it has been focused on!
Napoleon Hill once said, “Whatever the mind of man can conceive, and believe, it can achieve.”
Oh, so often we fail to believe this because it sounds so corny, so pie in the sky, so fairy tale, but only because Mr. Hill is saying this in the context of planning our lives, believing in ourselves, and focusing. For most people life isn’t planned it’s just lived day by day, by the seat of their pants, with little to no planning involved, but, and this is a huge whopper of a but, they still achieve a great many things despite not having planned. Why? FOCUS!
Yes, even people with no plan can accidentally focus and maybe, just maybe, that describes your life up until this point. If you have achieved so much without even knowing that you were focused, what on earth could you do if you focused and believed?
You must stop talking and start doing! No more excuses…just Focus, believe and achieve.
