In Down Times Look For The Cow

I don’t like looking back. I’m always constantly looking forward. I’m not the one to sort of sit and cry over spilled milk. I’m too busy looking for the next cow.

Does life, and all of its endless issues, ever get under your skin?  Like you’re trying so hard to make things happen but there’s not enough time in the day, not enough ideas in your head, and the things that you have no control over seem to be laughing right in your face?  Yeah, me too.

Do you ever feel like you can’t make things happen quickly enough?  It’s like riding a bike up a steep hill and it seems as though you’ll never reach the top, your struggling, and you’re out of breath.

I think that we all have days like that.  I have days like that and I’d like to share with you how I get past them.

I don’t beat myself up about it and neither should you.  Banging your head against the wall in order to punish yourself is going to get you nowhere.  Just accept the fact that you’re not always going to be on your game.  No one ever is, so go easy on yourself.  Even the best of us have one of those days or a couple of those days!

I find something to do that I enjoy.  For me, that’s reading a great book, playing my guitar, or going for a long ride on my motorcycle.  What is it for you?

I also look for positive encouragement and I usually find that at Ted.com, through a good book, or chatting with a close friend who understands what I’m dealing with.  Not a pity party but maybe a sounding board.

Sometimes I do all of the above.

I don’t know how life and career are going for you today, but if you’re in the dumps then take a moment to relax, take a deep breath, enjoy something nice then get back on your game tomorrow, without guilt, remorse, and without looking back.
